Re: K'T'inga by Ugh Models

So time for a little update... Not sure what to call these but they are a nice little detail on either side of the pedestal at the base of the neck. I guess I'll call them "outriggers": https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2839/33499852903_115b4b0536_c.jpg Base of Neck Outriggers by trekriffic , ...

Re: 1/1400 Galaxy Quest N.S.E.A. Protector Spaceship - Pegasus Hobby

Trekriffic, that is definitely a consideration! I tried again with the stuff I have on hand last night. I checked it again and found a majority of the wing was fused nicely. So I tried to get the rest of it done. I may stop by LHS and pick up some alternate stuff tonight, ya know, just in case. A p...

Re: Theories and Conjecture about the Yamato Class Battleship

Why not carry the middle all the way to the fantail? Well because doing so has shown on computer simulations to produce an unstable eddy in the warp field, and it also gives a greater disapation area for impulse exhaust at subluminal velocities....... Well put Commodore. My thoughts exactly.

Re: Phobos

Yeah. Those yellow pointed decals for the reaction control thrusters on the saucer can be tough to get to lay down.
I've used some watered down white glue brushed underneath them in the past. That usually works.

Re: 1/1400 Galaxy Quest N.S.E.A. Protector Spaceship - Pegasus Hobby

Failing that, any other suggestions? Steve If your seams keep popping and you don't want to have to redo your wiring/fiber runs to relieve the impingements causing the problem you could try screwing the wings together. My local hobby store sells these really small screw sets; I think they are used ...

Re: K'T'inga by Ugh Models

OK. So I decided I wasn't quite done yet with the nacelles. The kit molded inboard aft details... uhhhh.... not quite up to snuff, at least when compared to the K't'inga seen in STTMP: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4191/33388369924_fda64e7d64_c.jpg Kit Details by trekriffic , on Flickr So I removed ...

So I started in on the aft inboard nacelle details using this photo of the studio model for reference: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2812/34144948076_2084c75cc7_c.jpg Inboard Studio Model Nacelle Detail by trekriffic , on Flickr Here you can see how I bent the music wire at right angles using needle...

Re: Nebula class USS Melbourne conversion kit available soon

Nice! 1/1400 is a little too big for what room I have left on my shelves though. Are there any plans for making a conversion kit in 1/2500 scale?

Re: 1/1400 Galaxy Quest N.S.E.A. Protector Spaceship - Pegasus Hobby

I admit I am a little gun shy about the CM. I have tried several times to apply masking fluid to the windows only to have the masking slide right off when I went to cut and shape the masking. Gonna try and wash it again to see if it is just separating fluid still on the acrylic. I think I will use ...
