Re: USS Daran, NCC-3201

This looks too cool, Griffworks!

Very nice job! Very clean, too!

Any more pics? You said you did a larger one as well?

Lemme know.

Re: Galileo 2.0

Hmmm... I must have deleted this reply when I added in the rest of the post earlier. The decal look spot on. Did you use the same font for these as you did for the '64 AMT Enterprise- the one you developed from tracings of Matt Jefferies' font? So it is the same in that it is all done as tracings r...

Re: K'T'inga by Ugh Models

Great Job, Steve! This is looking Awesome!

I've run out of adjectives to describe how great this build is! I looked for some in Klingon. Didn't find any. :?

I think their adjectives are all insults anyway!

Keep going!

Re: Why build Star Trek models instead of...?

Yan, yeah, lots of sympathies for your childhood situation. At least your escapism was much more complete than mine! It's great that you have overcome so much and achieved so much in your life! Well done, Sir! It's also fabulous that you actively attempt to ensure the good is untainted by the bad in...

Re: 1/1400 Galaxy Quest N.S.E.A. Protector Spaceship - Pegasus Hobby

Hey Fellow builders! I didn't realize that so much time had passed since the last real update. I have built a Gazebo and another fence around the other side of the house so my bench time has been limited a bit. At least this time I didn't wait until July to do all of it! :D There isn't much to tell ...

Re: Why build Star Trek models instead of...?

Gents and Fellow Builders, Thanks for your great responses and insights! I have really enjoyed reading them! First off, I should apologize for the title. I should have realized that such excellent builders as yourselves would not be limited to one genre for building models. A Thousand Apologies, kin...

Yeah, it was meant to be thought provoking and a discussion topic anyway. But I have learned from everyone who shared. :)

Thanks

Re: To Light or Not To Light - That is the question

I would say that finishing a hard project does give a more lasting sense of satisfaction. Seeing it on the shelf is a memory of not just the model, but the work you put into it. I like that thought, Tesral; “…a memory of not just the model, but the work you put into it.” :D Fortunately, when I got ...

Why build Star Trek models instead of...?

While I am out here in discussion land, I was also wondering about the "why" of building Star Trek models instead of "Star Wars" or "Galaxy Quest" (although I have been allowed to build one here! :) ) or "BSG"? What influenced you to pick this particular genre...

Re: To Light or Not To Light - That is the question

IIs it preference; their choice to build without the extra hassle? Steve Give the man a cookie. I think lightning is cool. But is is a lot of hassle. I also build mostly Sacred Scale. WAY more hassle. Ergo I crossed lights off the list of things I do. Yeah, I can see where an extremely small model ...
