Re: A discussion of model scales

Apologies. I was not clear, and did not mean to step on anyone's toes. No worries at all. I completely agree with you. The 1/1400 market was flooded with kits early on because it was the prefect size to get the entire fleet on one shelf and still provide a lot of detail, and frankly that's still tr...

Re: Soyuz class conversion!

That's a great looking model and I may do one in the future but I'm saving my 1/1000 Reliant for the Saratoga conversion they are working on getting out. He he, just got some supplies in today that might correct the things I've been concerned about. Going to check them out right now. ;) If they wor...

Re: Air Brush Maintenance

I would suggest whatever thinner you're using. I spray pretty much just Tamiya brand acrylics, which take isopropyl alcohol very well as a thinner, but other acrylics tend to curdle so know what works for the paint you use. When I break down my airbrush, which is an Aztek model that most folks don't...

 Wow. And here all along I've been thinking just basic black.

Re: Length of odyessy slipways steamrunner class model?

Slipways has a Steamrunner? I have a pair of the old Delta Quadrant kit (which kicked ass!), but have never seen this OS kit... Anyone got a pic? Did you mean Jupiter Station kit? I've got that one in my stash, which I thought was the same thing because Chris bought out Jupiter Station, but it's no...

Re: Sulfer Crested Romulan

That finishes basic build except for the spire. That will wait until I have all the filling done. Del names it as "fragile". I'm taking his word for it. Only because if I think I might bump it with my fingers or fist while painting or placing decals, then likely others may do the same. No...

Re: RIP Lenny

Regarding a dedication to Lenny I think that sounds like a great idea. Maybe I could build a starship and call it the U.S.S. LENNOX, in honor of his official purebred name, Lennox Crystal. What a wonderful idea. It's always sad to lose a furry family member, and I think maybe it has not only someth...

Re: Social Media and AST

I think what he is stating is something that I experience frequently myself. When I Google a ship type for reference, I'm frequently getting links to photos and discussions at AST. This is a GOOD thing . Usually I see it when I'm looking at images, and re-directs me here. Many times I've found old d...

Let me see what I can do. Not promising when, but I'll put them both back in the top ten kits to get out.
