Re: RIP Lenny

Regarding a dedication to Lenny I think that sounds like a great idea. Maybe I could build a starship and call it the U.S.S. LENNOX, in honor of his official purebred name, Lennox Crystal. What a wonderful idea. It's always sad to lose a furry family member, and I think maybe it has not only someth...

Re: Social Media and AST

I think what he is stating is something that I experience frequently myself. When I Google a ship type for reference, I'm frequently getting links to photos and discussions at AST. This is a GOOD thing . Usually I see it when I'm looking at images, and re-directs me here. Many times I've found old d...

Let me see what I can do. Not promising when, but I'll put them both back in the top ten kits to get out.

Re: 1:2500 SPRINGFIELD

Holy !!!!!!!!, those are fantastic! Are those the kit decals or something custom? Kit decals. I've got the artwork from GMeister as well, just wanted to improve upon an already good product, which is why I'm taking so long getting it back in production. Well, that and I see squirrels everywhere and...

Re: Romulan Vengeance from NorthTrek Creations

So you recommend soaking resin kits overnight? Is that standard for mold release removal? In the past I've just soaked them for about 10 minutes or so in hot warm water and dishwashing liquid before scrubbing with a bristle brush and rinsing. Maybe I've been doing it wrong. No, he posted fairly lat...

Re: Sulfer Crested Romulan

So 3/32" hole it is. Once basic assembly is finished and I have an idea how it will sit it will pay a visit to the drill press. I like the large flat area right in the middle of the underside. Yeah, the center of gravity once assembled is that flat area, and directly beneath the two bulbous th...

Never seen one- not even on Shapeways.

You should ask Eric about that, because I didn't get it. Maybe Erin, maybe Tracy, maybe JT. I'm not entirely sure.

Uh, 3/32 hole? Kit supplied acrylic rod is 1/8, but maybe you're using something else?

Re: Romulan Vengeance from NorthTrek Creations

Da burd is in the house. Now it needs a quick bath. Maybe, ....maybe not. I put the disclaimer on the instructions just to be safe, but the only mold release I use is talcum powder from Johnson & Johnson. Still could be some sort of resin related residue, but I never wash my parts before I buil...
