Re: This makes me sad...

He sold the Enterprise for $1000. Hard to really say for sure. There was only 1 bid.

Re: Mr. Dissolved Putty

I use it all the time. I like it better then Mr. Surfacer 500 because it does not shrink as much and is pretty easy to sand.

Re: 1/537 Enterprise Refit smoothie

I respectfully have to say that is not the standard refit impulse deck. I'm not sure what manufacturer that is from but It's not the correct one. If you go down the page about two thirds of the way you will see the correct impulse deck. http://www.dlmparts.com/amtrefitreliantparts1537scale.html I'd...

Re: 1/537 Enterprise Refit smoothie

I should explain. The first refit enterprise model kits from the Motion Picture are the only ones that are smoothies. Later incarnations for the other movies put those stupid aztec lines in the mold. The smoothies are getting pretty rare, so the guys who make the after market parts just assume you h...

1/537 Enterprise Refit smoothie

I thought it was time I started work on this beasty. As you can see I have a lot of resin to improve the accuracy of it. I have replaced the deck and bridge so far. I still have a little putty and sanding left to do, but I am relieved that I was able to do this mod with out screwing it up. This requ...

Re: How to remove stuck-on liquid mask

I've had that issue on occasion. Liquid mask is very hit and miss. Anyway, I've had some luck applying a little thinner over the mask to help soften it up to remove. Your millage may very.

You wouldn't be, by chance, a mailman that spends most of his free time sitting at a bar would you?

Re: Enterprise NX-01 Refit

The base coat is Model Air #121. USAF Light Grey. Ya it would seem they went with the MIrror Mirror episode for inspiration. Only reason I can come up with for using the spikes on the nacelles.

Enterprise NX-01 Refit

I purchased two of these. One to build as a refit and on as the original. Not a bad kit overall. I have the Acreation aztec kit that I will use for the other version. But this one is much closer to the TOS 1701 so I chose not to put aztecs on it. http://s12.postimg.org/c096y59j1/2014_03_09_01_48_08....

Re: WF 2014

I only live a couple hours away so I was thinking about it. We have our yearly vacation at the beginning of May, so I don't know how I'll be set for cash. Well see though.
