Shuttlecraft Tiberius

Postby sando6569 » Fri Mar 31, 2017 9:55 pm

Hi, this is my first post here after lurking for a good while. This is a shuttlecraft I rebuilt from a totally trashed AMT kit using bits and pieces I had lying around. It has a lit interior, nacelles, rear engine and strobes.
I decided to model something from the alternate timeline so I went with a craft from the ISS Exeter which I built from a equally trashed 1/1000 kit.
The original nacelles were long lost, but the ones from the 1/1000 Enterprise kit made really good replacements.

I scratchbuilt the rear engine area out of balsa and plastic sheet.

The window frames cracked while trying to remove the clear insert, so they were altered to look more militaristic.I replaced them with clear sheet.

The interior was given a redo by changing the arrangement of the seating to allow for an extra set of doors on the right hand side front. I built some lighting panels in the ceiling and built a new rear wall.

The exterior had added plating made out of balsa and plastic sheet, I was trying to go for a more heavy duty armoured look top and bottom.

I painted it with a made up two-tone gray after priming

The decals were made from leftover sheets from different trek kits, and some custom printed ones.

I like what you did with it.

I love it!

Very inspired take on the TOS design for an alternate universe. It even strikes me as a bit of a crossover link to the TMP shuttle as well.

Well done Sir.

Thanks for the comments. I imagined it as an assault shuttle, I've been thinking of adding underwing weapon pods of some sort.

I much prefer your design. :!: :geek:
