All kinds of awesome. I love the torpedo bay. Seeing the Refit in cutaway form really drives home how cramped... err, cosy the thing is. The chief engineers who surely cut their teeth on Connies before progressing to the first Ambassadors must have had a word or two say about "wasted space" on the next generation of ships!

Interesting find, When engineering was designed for TMP it was designed like this. The second level that Kirk walks on and looks down from, before he takes the lift, doesn't fit anymore because in Trek II that are was turned into the long Torpedo bay.

That is interesting. Say, I notice there is an escape pod below the secondary hull docking port. Are you going to put any in your Refit?Steam235 wrote:Interesting find, When engineering was designed for TMP it was designed like this. I think right now I'm a bit too intimidated to put in anything else. I'm hoping to get a handle on the parts I'm already committed to before deciding on anything else.Drop_Bear wrote:That is interesting. I did do some work on the nacelle this week. Nothing is final here, but it's a rough idea of what I'm doing.

And an overall shot, remember nothing in the nacelle is glued yet which is why it's all a kilter. The only thing I'm really not happy with right now is that the warp core doesn't look straight. It is one continuous tube, and I made it one tube so that it would line up right from the neck to the engineering deck. some how it seems bent around the torpedo deck. It's hollow, so I think I can put a solid rod inside it to get it straight again.
