Well I was planning on using the dlm replacement parts, aftermarket decals and wiring my own strobes and other various lights. Planning on making this one a non -a kit. Always thought it was stupid to put that on there lol.

Ok I may change my build to a lighted or a kit bash. Depends on if I can get my defiant done, in the newbie contest! I have a lot of stuff going on right now.

it's always been a dream of mine to build that kit the best I can. I even found a testor's airbrush kit that uses aerosol canned air that would work for me so I can use the transluscent paints for the aztecs. I even wanted to put in the strobes that are missing on this kit. My brother bought me one of these and it was the last Christmas present he bought before he moved away right before our mother passed away in 94. I unfortunately lost the kit in a house fire a few years back but won one on ebay a few months back so it made me even more determined to do this one right from the start. I just hope that with what little I have done, sanding the saucer down and getting her under primer won't be considered too much to enter it into the contest.

Just looked over a Starcraft Steamrunner kit I bought directly from Dennis. This is the kit I'm going to use.

Really nice detailing on the saucer. The more and more I look at the design the more I love it.

From what info there is floating around the design on the net, it seems like it's meant to be a kind of carrier design with hangar bay entrances forward and aft.

I'm considering a mod to mine to cover the forward bay entrance and make it a more cruiser-ish ship.

I would love to enter but there's no way I could commit to building it during a set period of time and have any confidence of completing it.

Hmm... By that time, my current 1/2500 TOS Ent should be done.

So... yeah, I'd love to start another 1/2500 project for this contest. It will most likely be a heavily modified/upgraded Ent-B, to make a new class (tentatively, Hammerhead class).

That's why I choose OOB. For a 3 month build, I thought that'd be a stretch for any scratch-building,

I just got the new release of the DS9 Defiant kit. Can't see building this one wihout lights so I guess it would into the kitbash category.
