Newbie Contest Rules (Updated: 4-1-2014)

ALL SCALE TREK "NEWBIE" MODEL & MINIATURE CONTEST
Sponsored by Multi-Verse Models

Theme: Anything goes! Any race, era and paint job is allowed, as log as it belongs within the Star Trek universe.
Type: Out Of Box (OOB). Any styrene or resin Star Trek kit, built "as is", with the exception of additional decals.

ENTRY RULES

1) One (1) creation per member. Any scale, design, race and era is allowed.

2) Out Of Box (OOB). Any styrene or resin Star Trek kit, built "as is", with the exception of additional decals and custom paint jobs (if desired). Faulty parts can be replaced with the same parts, or something as close to the original as possible.

4) Entries must be new builds, and therefore cannot have been entered in previous competitions.

5) Each participant must create one (1) "work in progress" thread, that will serve as a mini blog, detailing the build. A minimum of three (3) images of your build must be added (preferably before, during and after). The more updates/images/pics, the better.

5) All entries will be judged in one group. So, a starship will be judged against someone else's shuttle, and against a space station as well.

6) In order to enter the contest, please state your interest by posting in the Newbie Roll Call thread. You will then be added to the group list and be granted thread creation access in the Newbie Contest Entries section.

IMAGES/PICTURES

7) Including photos/pics of your work is mandatory. The more of pics you include as your build progresses, the better. High resolution pics (1000x1000) are preferred.

8) The minimum requirements are three (3) pics. Preferably, one (1) pic of parts/materials at the start, one (1) of the middle stage of your build and one (1) when it's completed. The more pics, the better.

9) Use of image editing programs to enhance your pics is allowed, but only to make minor adjustments, such as lighting. Adding "special fx" or backgrounds is prohibited.

JUDGING

10) Entries will be judged primarily on creativity. Technical skills will be taken into consideration, but aren't as important.

11) Judging will be done via private voting by other members. Other participants may vote for other entries, but not their own.

PRIZES

12) Multi-Verse Models will be giving away the following for the top 3.

1st Place: Federation Cyclone (either version).*

2nd Place: Romulan DragoHawk (either version).*

3rd Place: Cardassian Fon Tu'Dor (either version).*

13) Once the contest has ended, the contact information of the winner and runners up will be passed on to MVM. At which point they will contact you with further details.

POSTING CONTENT

15) Please make sure the title of your WIP thread includes the name and scale of the kit.

16) Once you have completed your build, please add "DONE!" to the title.

17) Only members participating in the contest will be allowed to create threads in the Contest Entries section. Spectators may show their support by posting in the threads created.

18) Please note that for the duration of the contest all entries/content (in part or in full) must remain exclusive to the All Scale Trek site. Linking to your WIP thread here is fine. Once the contest is over, you may post your work wherever you wish.

CONTEST DATES

[*] Sign up/Start/Thread Creation deadline: March 15th.

[*] Work in progress thread start date: Participants may start as soon as they sign up and have been given access.

Please note, no advantage is gained by starting a WIP thread early or at the last minute.

[*] Judging: May 2nd - May 8th.

[*] Winner and runners up announced: May 10th.
