Building Stands for Resin Kits

I built my first starcraft kit and now she needs a stand. Where do you get the rods? Do you just use a drill to create a hole in the kit?

I purchased a whole load of acrylic rod, 4 or 5mm, and also some brass rods of the same size.
Resin kits are good to drill into just pick a thick section or where you think will take the weight. Taking into account the point of balance.
Plastic kits need a bit of meat inside the kit to drill into. You can put some modelling clay or something similar inside while building up.
There is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact its all dark.

Can you get that at hardware stores or craft stores?

My standard stand is a 3/32" brass rod in a 1/4" plexiglass base.

Yes, you drill a hole in the bottom of the model if you want to display it on a rod. That is usually one of the first things I do is drill the hole.
