Another old part build recovered from the garage, finally finished.
Based upon the original model paint scheme with a little artistic licence.

Excellent execution!
What colors did you use? I'd like to benchmark that for a TOS build that I'd like to oneday do.

Well done indeed. Colors look just right. Some great work eliminating those long seams along the neck and command bulb.

I'm surprised how the colours look under the lights. I used Tamiya AS29 (IJN Grey Green) and AS25 (Dark Ghost Grey). Both from rattle cans. Under daylight the green would benefit from a more bluish tinge, and the grey a little less bluish, and warmer toned, but I like it in any case. I've got another two partially built efforts, so I'm going to have a play with them over next few weeks.

Sweet! Thanks for the exact colors stock codes! I've got some of each on-hand and can always get more as required. I appreciate the info.
Thanks again!

Light matters something fierce. Incandescent is yellowing, florescent slightly blueish, LEDs depend on the LED. I make a point of buying full spectrum, not to benefit my photography, although it does do that, but to benefit me..Rigel wrote:I'm surprised how the colours look under the lights. The camera has its say as well. The CCD is not (sadly) always true to life. So the quality of the camera is a thing. Not to be a camera snob, but my Canon camera always takes better pictures than my phone. A good camera is a joy and money spent on good tools is never wasted.
