Now I know where to find the missing White House tape. It's on Steve's Protector.

Dreamstone was an awesome toon back in the 90s, have fond memories traveling to the land of nightmares on a weekday (can't remember which) after getting home from school.

On topic. This looks... amazing. Probably look better than the studio model or it's CG counterpart

And that, dear readers, is yet another reason why photobucket sucks so bloody hard.

Lesson learned, Gentlemen! Migrating to Flicker as we speak. Once I get the links updated, I'll fix this thread. I may leave the TOS Romulan final pics up.

And yes, photobucket sucks! I'm closing my account.

Thanks guys!

Steve

Answer 1. Slowly!

Answer 2: Considering the "hit" some of us took with Photorobbery this week, I have spent a majority of my free time migrating to Flickr. I am in the process of "fixing" this thread and one other I am on. The work, in itself, is tedious and slow. I haven't lost any pictures as I maintain ALL my photos on an external harddrive, but trying to reconstruct the thought flow via photo progression is tough, too.

Nova, I think we have to qualify "fun" with degrees of fun. I am having less fun in trying to figure out the painting pattern and then cutting individual, customized patterns out available masking tapes than the fun I would be having in finalizing the build and seeing all the months of work completed and behind me. But, I am having fun either way!

Will I give up? Never!

Will I Surrender? Never!

It may just take me longer to charge up the hill then it used to!

I did manage to finish up the Dorsal Bussard collector housing. Again, the white spaces will be the pearlized paint and the actual production model has a crazy random-ness to the pattern - I've tried to duplicate some of that here.

I also finished up the dorsal STBD wing. I had to use dental picks to pickup and place the masking tape to even get it close to being in position.

I started the STBD Matter Restoration and Engine Exhaust pods, but remembered, after the photo was taken, that I want those particular patterns to be the pearlized white rather than the white; so they are coming off.

I will persevere and get this thing done and it WILL be wonderful! (At least that's what I tell myself to keep going! :D )

Till next time!

LLAP!

Steve

Good Day, My Fellow Questarians!

Another quick update - the Spousal Unit is home and she has a "honey-do" list that steals my building time! ;) ;D

I was able to finish the Bussard Collector housing and the ventral of the STBD Engine Pod.

The Housing masking kinda looks like a car door with the window rolled down. This only reinforces the idea, IMHO, that the original model makers just really didn't have a pattern to follow so they threw on random shapes and masks! ;D

It does seem to make it easier to make your own patterns, though. I have spent alot of time with my new Blu-ray copy of Galaxy Quest looking at the major sections of the hull for the more recognizable pattern. (BTW, the spousal unit it SOOOO tired of seeing Galaxy Quest !!) ::) ::) ;D

Anywhoo! Thanks as always for your encouragements and for following the thread!

ALEXANDER: This way... Wait, (Alexander turns the scanner right-side up) no, that way...

(They turn in the opposite direction.)

TOMMY: You were holding it upside down weren't you?

ALEXANDER: (Annoyed and Embarassed) Shut. up.

TOMMY: You know, with the makeup and everything; I actually thought you were smart for a second.

Thanks, Nova!

It's taking its time! It'll look all the better for it though, IMHO!

Thanks for looking!

Steve
