Thanks, I didn't realize round 2 was re-releasing the kit I just saw this footage. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxElCVNUSAJb ... XBN-JxaFZY
This is good since I would like to build an All Good Things version at some point and was having trouble finding more vintage kits.

I added Milliput around the aftermarket bridge module to smooth the rough edges. It didn't fit perfectly.

Re: 1:1400 Enterprise D 1988
I made some progress attaching the aftermarket dorsal neck part but had a few issues to overcome. The resin part was slightly misshapen so I needed to heat it in hot water and bend it into shape by holding it against the rest of the neck. After heating it the lip around the impulse engine disintegrated so I ended up 3d printing a new one and blended it in with putty. the photoetch part for the impulse engine grill was designed for the original neck part and did not fit so I made a decal and stuck it to some transparent styrene sheet. Here are a few pics.

After attaching the aftermarket dorsal neck piece I've ended up with a much thicker neck wall. I'm not keen on the idea but I may need to fill gaps in the primary hull to match the thickness. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue with aftermarket neck parts.

Re: 1:1400 Enterprise D 1988
I had a setback to sort out, after trying to reseal a seam that cracked on the secondary hull, some glue leaked in and damaged the fiberoptics at the back so I needed to take apart the secondary hull fix the fibreoptics and reseal everything back up. After that, I ended up filling in the gaps where the neck meets the primary hull I'll have to put up with the inaccurate thickness of the neck and saucer in that area. I attached some aftermarket impulse engines to the primary hull and have started adding the photoetch for the phaser banks.

Thanks, The two main things that are bugging me are the thick neck walls and I think the saucer is drooping slightly. I should probably focus more on the positive aspects and stop trying to be a perfectionist.

I'm sure the studio model itself had imperfections of it's own!
