Shelf Cleaning (will get picture heavy)

Postby Tesral » Sun Nov 12, 2017 5:29 am

My model shelves are dusty. Enough dust to make a man. Entire hutches of dust bunnies even. This has to be done now and again I might as well make it fun.

Two shots of every model on the shelf finished or not with a bit of commentary.

Saber: It did not come with decals so I consider it finished. I might consider making some. Does anyone have a saber decal sheet?

The Manta that recently got its own thread. Looking good for its age. Yes this one gets a brass plaque. It is special.

Coventry. Assembled, painted base coat, it never got any further. Might be time to add a little love here.

More later. I'm taking my time.

Selling or download?

Meanwhile the Great Philosophers Yoda, Micky and the puppy. They have watched over my computer room since 1993 when I married Sue. They sat on the monitor until it got too thin.

Cruisers three. The refit, the TOS and a Baltimore class heavy Cruiser from WWII. The E refit is mostly finished. I don';t like the TOS model and have seriously considered scrapping it for a new one. The Baltimore class is a GHQ aquanaut 1/2400.

Galaxy class, muchly unfinished. Another model I like and hate by turns. The ship below is the Nimitz class CVN 72 Abraham Lincoln. Also a GHQ aquanaut 1/2400

CVN 72 Abraham Lincoln. without the shadow.

Ships of the Line prepainted Reliant. I have not even replaced the stand yet. It was an easy (yay) model. I wanted to try one.

I'm glade you posted those 1/2400 ships. I was thinking about purchasing some too for display with my ships so it's really nice seeing the comparison.

ROCK BAND!

The SS Curious Minnow. Yes it is a Gorn from the FASA game and some vague Klingon nacelles put together and rescaled 1/2500. This is a Poong free trader.

The stand is a quarter inch thick. This one is small.

Unfinished Ambassador. I just never get around to it. No dislike of the model.

A pair of TM Lindsey ships the Sydney and the Olympic. I need to give these two more love they are beautiful little models.

And finally the SS Walloping Window Blind. A demilled and refit perimeter action ship. It represents the equivalent of a private jet in the 24th century.

I have three on the shelf, you will get to see all of them. Comparison is why I got them to start with.

Still cleaning.

Mini Mates! Mirror Mirror edition. Bearded Spock, what is not to love?
Mirror.JPG

Defiant, the Odyssey offering. I discovered this did not have a proper stand. It had a scrap of plexi. I got it one. Still in base coat.
Defiant1.JPG

Defiant2.JPG

Abbe and Constellation. the Constellation is the the TM Lindsey version, one of the first out of the mold. Both still in base coat. The picture do not do this justice, but I did not feel like getting them back off the shelf.
Abbe&Connie1.JPG

And how I put stands on the smaller ships.
standway.JPG

The Kongos: USS Kongo is on the top and it currently stripped for repaint. The IJNS Kongo is on the bottom, another GHQ 1/2400 Aquanaut.
Kongos1.JPG

Kongos2.JPG

A close up of the battleship. This thing is truly a little beauty.
Kongos3.JPG

Last on the bottom shelf. The only one I'm truly ashamed to show. Unfinished, and in bad need of a strip. They have decals for that.
