Seriously- we don't need any more losses around these parts and this flu season is looking grim.

Re: Sulfer Crested Romulan
I did have to do a bit of fitting on the impulse engines. The location stubs proved to be over large and had to be trimmed. Getting in to trim them proved a bear until I turned to the aforementioned chisel and it was easy-peasy. The right tool for the job kiddies. Let that be your creed.
There was a touch of flash, hardy noticeable except it got in the way of fit. Once fit a bare touch of filler will be require to make it seamless.
The proof: Dorsal view. And Stern view. That finishes basic build except for the spire. That will wait until I have all the filling done. Del names it as "fragile". I'm taking his word for it.
Then I must face the difficult matter of rattle cans and sub freezing weather. Options must be weighted.

Re: Sulfer Crested Romulan
There are trenches around the wings that need some putty. I'm going to try some precision putty placement here.
The other object in the picture beside the P3 is a 2mm hypodermic needle. I have a number of these left from giving sub cutaneous fluids to a sick cat. The syringes are collected from every doctor I've ever had. I stopped collecting. Be careful with this one, it is a sharp as a new #11. It lives with a cover on it. Unintentional needle sticks are not fun with insulin grade needles, never mind this pipeline.
The idea being fill the syringe with the P3 and run a bead of the stuff like a mini caulking gun. We shall see how it works.
The cat? Missy was 19 when she died of the side effect to being very old. The fluids extended her time to purr in the sun by two months.
This was Missy

The best way to honor her memory is to save a stray or a rescue cat/kitten.
If this were Trek, you could name her Missy-A.

There are currently three: Flower, the grumpy old lady of the lot. Midnight, AKA the Squirt,, Sweety, the Assassin, The middle and psychotic one. (No, she is on medication) And Kitt, barely a year old and still very much the kitten.Jason Abbadon wrote:I'm hugging my Hobbes for you.el gato wrote:She was a beautiful cat

All are rescues.
In my life I have had Jeremy, Ilya, Diana, Missy, Tiger, Zachery, and the current three.

Re: Sulfer Crested Romulan
Only because if I think I might bump it with my fingers or fist while painting or placing decals, then likely others may do the same. Not so much because the spire would break, but that the whole thing might come crashing down. I never like to put small or spindly things that may escape eyesight on a model until it's almost finished. Plus easier to paint when it's off due to that tight angle where it connects.Tesral wrote:That finishes basic build except for the spire. That will wait until I have all the filling done.
