Constitution Class Reliant

Post by Greyryder »

I read somewhere that early versions of the Wrath of Khan script described the Reliant as being a "Constitution class of a different configuration than the Enterprise." An idea popped into my head for the saucer. The engineering hull is being based on a sketch John Eaves did for the NX-01, that was rejected. The modification are complete, and the worst of the worst of the gaps, grooves, holes, and dents have been smoothed out. Getting ready to primer it, to find the all the little imperfections that can't be seen when things are different colors.

This should be interesting.... :D
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

I hope so!

Unless, by "interesting" you mean "an unmitigated disaster." In which case, been there, done that, The T-shirt didn't survive.

No, I don't, but even in disaster one gets unexpected benefits.

Is that a shuttle bay on the rear of the bridge on the main hull?

Yup! It's a fan tail shuttlebay, cut from an engineering hull casting.

She's Primed and temporarily glued together. I made this handy dandy call out sheet. 8-)

Interesting idea (the good type, not the disaster-type). Where did you see Eaves' sketch for the NX?

Second picture, here. Used to be a higher resolution image, at the Drex Files. If, I could figure out how to make a saucer that isn't all wapperjawed, I'd probably try to build that ship.

That's a really cool design!

And I love that NX design too, way better than what they used.
