I know you mean death, but let's play with another alternatives. Which is worse:

- Going back to the clueless days of your mid-30s where you still clung to the idea that you're immortal; or

- Going forward to your late 70s where that immortality idea is but a fleeting memory and you know your body is slowly going to kink out on you?
