Completed: The Federation Starship U.S.S. Fronval, NCC-1121.
The U.S.S. Fronval- A Detroyat Class (Heavy Destroyer) variant. The Detroyat, and by extension the Fronval, can do everything a Constitution Class ship can, just for not as long. It is an improvement over the Constitution at sublight speeds. It’s more maneuverable, and packs a heavier punch. It’s on a par with the Constitution when it comes to taking punishment. And it is below par in terms of range.
The Fronval has an improved Zero G combat maneuvering profile over the Detroyat due to 4 Key Improvements:

1) The S.I.D. (Stacked Impulse Drive).
The SID has 4 impulse thrust vents, each one has the ability to change it’s vector thrust. Overall this allows the ship an improved maneuvering capability. Each Impulse vent has two fusion engines to feed it, one operational, one backup.
2) Warp/Inertial Transducer.
The Warp Engines are designed to work in conjunction with the Impulse Drive in a series of braking actions that allow the ship to turn and bank ‘on a dime’ whilst at sub-light speeds. This is done by creating ‘Frame Dragging’ upon the space/time the ship is traveling through. These ‘drag’ effects are created by a pair of Warp/Inertial Transducers that have been incorporated into the warp engine pylons of the Fronval. The access ports can be seen as curves on the dorsal side of the engine pylons.
3) Improved Superstructure Reinforcement.
The working history of the Detroyat class led to improvements in the design of the superstructure that virtually eliminated many design flaws, by such means as the extension of the secondary hull, and the widening of the engine pylons. This coupled with the installation of Inertial Transducers allowed the SIF (structural integrity field) to be selectively applied to key spots as opposed to the standard ‘one size fits all’- application.
4) Computer/Sensor integration improvement. This allowed the helmsman to have a quicker response time during combat. This was effected by the unique helmsman display unit that was a virtual “flight simulator” in screen displays and instrument panels on the bridge.
One unexpected result of these design improvements was:
The Fronval displayed an improved Backward Loop capability. During the shakedown cruise and simulated combat games of the Fronval, the Ship displayed a remarkable ability to do a backward loop and get behind any pursuing craft before the pursuing craft could get a handle on it. During the last day of the simulated combat, the crew of the Fronval hard tested this ability and ended up setting a record number of consecutive backward loops that has yet to be beaten- 1,111 of them in a row.
Offense/Defense
The improvements that the Fronval incorporated were two additional sets of Photon Torpedo bays.
One set was located either side of the Navigational Deflector. And another set was located above and behind those. Instead of facing directly forward like the standard torpedo bays on the standard dorsal side of the primary hull, these were ‘aimed’ in a lateral arc that allowed the ship to fire onto a target while the ship was turning. This allowed a greater flexibility in firing arcs.
Since the Warp/Inertial Transducers allowed less power usage to maintain the integrity of the ship, power usage decreased significantly overall. This and the lesser draft allowed shields to operate at a more efficient rate.
Overall the Fronval is an optimum ship for escort duties or short range border patrol. And is an excellent ship for space combat.

The Requisite: Aft Shot, yes that is a shuttle bay on the aft end near the bottom. I feel that every ship should have a shuttle bay, particularly if you've got a transporter malfunction.

The NCC designation only went to 1120. 1121 came in handy because it turned out (serendipity!) to be easy to do a Decal match with 1701. Replaced the 70 with 12.
