Re: How to figure out scale for models?

I found a download application a few years ago that was a real help. Think it was called ScaleCalc or ScaleCalculator. Anyway it in "both directions" so you could input the size of a model and the "real" thing and it would output the scale or you could input the real size and des...

Re: Becasue it is slow today.

Always something new to learn and always room to improve. Painting is still my weak link, whether brush or airbrush. When it comes to real world subjects, aircraft warships etc, I have no problems but Star Trek ships give me no end of grief. Thank god for extensive decal sets.... However, I do my be...

Re: UGSF Proteus

I knew the Proteus looked big given the comparison with the J2 but never realised it was THAT big.... regardless of the plot holes and, as you say, some effects becoming quite dated, I still enjoy the movie. Whether they ever planned a sequel I have no idea but I would have liked to see some resolut...

Re: Porgs, cute, funny.... delicious!

Ever since return of the Jedi, the franchise has had a growing number of abominations. Ewoks, Jar Jar and now the Porgs. Wholly unnecessary and contributing to the decline (and fall) of the whole series. That being said, a meeting between a hungry Chewie and Jar Jar would have solved so many problem...

Re: Eaglemoss Discovery/Shenzhou

Was thinking of getting these until I saw the prices on Ebay......

Presently being listed for upwards of £60.00 each. And then listing the magazine separately for £10 each.....

Might as well be asking for a direct contribution to their retirement fund :D

Re: A discussion of model scales

I would certainly like to see more Vulcan ships although my interest these days has been more Enterprise/NX-01 era. Again, Eaglemoss have been helpfully releasing a few of that periods ships including the NX-01 (plus the refit), a few of the older Starfleet ships and civilian freighters, the Andoria...

Re: A discussion of model scales

My scale interests are all over the place! I try to focus on Aircraft - mainly 1/144 with a few 1/72 AFVs - 1/72 and 1/144 Figures - 1/72 mainly plus a few specialist at 1/20 to go with the Maschienen Krieger/SF3D models Ships/Subs - 1/72 (limited numbers, mainly MTB/Patrol Boats), 1/144 (subs and a...

Re: Air Brush Maintenance

Also tend to work with mainly Tamiya acrylics and some Revell and Humbrol. Mainly because Mr Colour, Gunze Sangyo are almost impossible to find in the UK. I generally thin with Tamiya own brand acrylic thinner. I usually shoot a blast of thinners through the brush after each use and before changing ...
