shiftdel wrote:Tesral, the cruiser you have has the same hex base? could you confirm if it is really 2.5 cm (around 1 inch)?

2.7 across the flats by the vernier. A skooch over an inch. Allowing for flash call it an inch.

Re: Starcrafts 1:1400 TOS Enterprise (WiP)

I would do it with decals. 1/1400 is smaller than the 1/1000 and trying to draw windows on that would be a fist class pain.

Re: Shiftdel´s upcoming 1/2500 scale trek fleet on Shapeways

Thanks Tesral and el gato, your opinions are always welcome, seems that the 2 extremes of my measurements would be a good start to offer, maybe an intermediate one... Do you both agree that 406 m is too large? Not going to say that. The book said a crew of 600. 600 Gorns. Now the Gorn ships are com...

Re: Shiftdel´s upcoming 1/2500 scale trek fleet on Shapeways

Well if you go by the FASA minis being 1/3900 it is 101 meters.

The mini is 1.02 inches BTW.

Excuse me that was the Cruiser.

As the Battleship has a crew of over 600 I would go with 300 meter thereabout. 660 Gorn are going to take up a bit of space.

Gorn: I prefer the elegant SFB Gorns.

Re: How to figure out scale for models?

First you break down the scale. X/xx That means X inch equals xx inches in scale. So a 1/1000 model is 1000 inches to the real inch. Convert to 1/1000 65 meters long. a meter is 39.36 inches. So 65x39.36 = 2558.4. The next step is easy. Divine the number of inches by 1000. 2558.4/1000 = 2.5584 inche...

Re: Gizmo Excelsior

That rear launcher.....

It is one of the points on the Excelsior that bug me. The forward launchers are neatly incorporated into the hull. The rear ones looks tacked on at the last minute. Why not incorporate them smoothly in the fantail?

I love how this is coming together.
