Re: 1/2 Scale Nomad

Whoa! That's pretty darned kewel. Thanks :) Will you be returning to any of the other models you used to sell? I've been considering it but I've been trying to catch up on a bunch of other (non-fun) things :| There still hasn't been a decent Constellation -class or Sydney -class in 1/2500 since you...

Re: Why the Enterprise is an Amazing Design

And I agree about the JJprise. It takes everything beautiful about the Big E and ruins it. "How ugly can we make this?" The rest of their designs are just as ugly. Yep! All of the ships in JJTrek are terrible. Transforming indeed, ugh. But then I don't care for most ships TNG and after,so... Now pl...

Re: Why the Enterprise is an Amazing Design

I had a steady diet of "Lost in Space" and B movies, so saucers and rockets were all I knew. The model a friend had of the Enterprise interested me was was so different it was somehow off-putting. When I saw ST:TMP in the theater (which was my first viewing of any ST, and I actually liked TMP) I fel...

Re: DIY Dry Transfer Decals?

Apparently there were several options for making DIY dry transfer decals but I'm finding that the government placed restrictions on the chemicals in recent years, so most discontinued the sheets. There are a couple of places left but one leaves a "halo" around the decal unless you cut it exactly and...

DIY Dry Transfer Decals?

Hey Guys!

I've never done decals before but have a possible need for some and they would need to be dry transfer specifically.

Has anyone ever done their own DT decals with any success?

Thanks!

Re: 1/2 Scale Nomad

Thanks :)

Speaking as a purist, I was very uneasy about doing the more colorful version, but I am actually happy with the two-tone effect. I imagine if Nomad was on "Lost in Space" vs "Star Trek" it would have been at least this colorful

1/2 Scale Nomad

Hello All! After many months, I'm almost finished with a 1:2 Nomad for the same person who requested the 1:1 Nomad last year. Fairly happy with the results so far. The electronics were provided by someone an out-of-town friend knows (the local guy flaked out on me, as feared/expected). Purist Warnin...

Re: Federation Standard Containers

I was going to ask why you didn't want to use these https://plastruct.com/shop/tubing-fittings/95745-vhe-20/, then read this part  : The "cap it off" is the modeling part. I prefer the thin walled metal tubes for both workability and lightness. Now I just need to find them were I don't pay 9 bu...

Thanks Xen, I might do a search for them after the holidaze.
