Re: Polar Lights coming out with ST:DIS ships in 1/2500

I agree, it's very frustrating. There is no real reason to increase the size of any of these ships. The Discovery can be reasonably larger as it is experimental... the Enterprise's new size doesn't fit either the prime or the Kelvin timeline, and the Shenzhou is a one-off ship as it is anyway. Ugh.

Re: Polar Lights coming out with ST:DIS ships in 1/2500

Guys, I've crunched some numbers. This poster from Round 2 assumes the following actual hero ship sizes: USS Discovery - 750 meters USS Enterprise - 482.5 meters  USS Shenzhou - 425 meters If we were to pretend that the Star Trek: Discovery Enterprise and the TOS Enterprise were both the exac...

Can someone confirm these 1/2500 scales?

Saber Class: Wound up reading the entire Memory Alpha entry and watching the Trekyards episode on youtube to figure this one out. Issue is that there are 3 potential sizes of this vessel, but the generally agreed upon one is: "Visual Effects Supervisor David Stipes said that an overall length of 62...

That is awesome!!!

I love the quality of the builds. I love the base. The ring ships make me jealous, and I'm straight up stealing the platform idea for the Orbiter. Really well done.

1/2624 World Trade Center

I was at work in the Firehouse and someone brought in one of these to donate to us. http://www.ebay.tv/sch/Collectibles-/1/i.html?_sop=10&_nkw=danbury+mint+twin+towers&_frs=1 I was curious about the scale, and did some measurements. The scale works out to be 1/2624, so it's darn close. I don't know ...

Re: THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! Star Trek Beyond Trailer

Yeah, exactly! If in 2009 they'd come out with a beautiful design that kept the Jefferies ship with some minor updates I would have been screaming "Noooooo!" but the JJ-Prise wasn't my favorite.

Re: THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!! Star Trek Beyond Trailer

Hah! Well, my hope is that, Simon Pegg, being a little bit more connected to the geek-o-sphere, knowing that the design changes to the new ship were largely unappreciated, used his promotion to lead writer to blow up the ship, and then maybe make the new one more in line with the original! I'd find ...
