Re: 33 inch TOS Enterprise - Studio Scale Replica (Pic heavy)

Even though I haven't been able to do much in the last few years, the model is still sitting here (assembled, but not yet glued together). Even in it's unfinished state, it is still a nice looking model. This is how it is holding up... http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/models/tos_33/170...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

Thanks guys! Amazing to think this could have been. Beautiful. Yeah, it is sad to think about what we missed out on... basically TOS improved. Sharper uniforms (with more designs), higher quality props that still looked like the originals, and better effects (most likely comparable to Battlestar Gal...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

I didn't label the braids because I didn't have my normal font on that system, I've changed it now. And yes, the alternate admiral's braids are there because of TMP. It is interesting to note that during the wardrobe test Shatner's uniform is using the admirals braids from the Technical Manual, but ...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

I was sick in bed and couldn't get to my main computer, so I put this together with what I had on hand to kill some time. http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/uniform-elements-s.jpg Click to enlarge I don't know if I'll ever do anything with it, but I figured I'd share it with you guys.

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

Thanks guys! I'll keep plugging away at it as I can. I did get a chance to finish up on the last few elements I wanted to add to the exterior plans... http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/plans/1701_2243_plans-test-3s.jpg Click to enlarge And I also got around to doing the Constellation (w...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

A bit more playing around... though I'm not sure there is really any need/want for another set of deck plans for the Enterprise. I'm mainly doing this to nail down the elements that will be seen in the cross section. http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/plans/1701_2243_plans-test-2s.jpg Cl...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

Yeah, pretty much. Of course the real reason for either element was essentially as a bolt cover that would allow easy access for removing the primary hull. At first this was so the primary hull could land, but later became important in storing the 11 foot model (which was generally only assembled be...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

Thanks guys! I uploaded a handful of changes to my demo site . Eventually I'll make it into a final version. What is the egg shaped thing on the top/rear of the saucer? I don't recall ever seeing anything like that. I'm not sure... impulse reactor blister? This was a feature included on both the Oct...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

Here something I've been playing with while bedridden for the past month... http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/plans/1701_2243_plans-preview-s.jpg Click to enlarge The idea is what would plans of starship 1701 have looked like before construction started in 2243? It's a combination of my...

Re: 33 inch TOS Enterprise - Studio Scale Replica (Pic heavy)

Took the first steps towards getting back to my models today... retrieving a few of them from storage. http://www.shawcomputing.net/racerx/trek_stuff/models/Back_from_Storage-s.jpg Click to enlarge At this point I only have these models out as they were the last to be put into storage. It'll still b...
