But even so, the attention to detail- is awesome.

Welp, decided to use just two of the included decals and call it there. Then I did some black and brown oil washes. I hope I didn't over wash... Image

I still have to wash the belly... But since those will be the more visible surface it gets more attention...

I did some work on scaling back a bit of the wash. May still be a bit much in some places but this is the first spacecraft (or vehicle in general) that I've really done a wash on. Here are some pics post wash and matte clear coat. I'm still gonna do a little bit of dry brushing and fix some things here and there but it's almost done at this point. I'll post more pics of it finished and all mounted up. Till then, here are some pics, including some closeups of some details...

Finished. TONS of mistakes and imperfections. I learned a lot of good things doing this one though. Huge seams and gaps and warped pieces.. Lots of filling and sanding, even though I did miss some places... Learned a lot about both airbrushing and hand painting, washing and dry brushing... Hopefully the next one will be better, but I hit the spot where anymore will be detrimental... The point of zero returns...

You're too hard on yourself, your model looks fantastic.

woohoo!
this came together awesomely!

the minor 'mistakes' or 'imperfections' (i'm looking real hard, I can't see any hehe)
make this more space-worn and space wear-n-tear makes klingon ships
look more lived in hehe.

I cannot comment, as the few larger scale ships I've tried to make,
tend moreso to be klingon,
and tend to be green tree frog or fluro green hehe

I like how the relief ink wash has picked out all the hull-lines
the darker klingon green/government green as opposed to the romulan norwegian green/khaki
and how rusty this ship looks... it looks like its seen a few battles.
maybe its been refitted and reactivated after a hiatus in mothball?
maybe this is a fringe faction craft
there's a lot of potential narratives there with this model :D

that klingon insignia... it looks like it's been taken straight from a bulkhead
it looks very klingon.

thanks for sharing
