i decided to replicate the damage from the astroid to the discovery's saucer from the season 2 first look trailer

did you shoot the saucer with a BB-gun? use a Dremmel, a hot-wood-poker/solder-iron?

I had secretly hoped it had been a "RedHotNickelBall" of Youtube style bb pellet in the garage.
it looks like a steelie-BB that had been heated and fired at close range, just the way that trail edge looks so molten-y.

very cool that new trailer was awesome and going by that damage to the saucer that deffinetly mean the spore drive is out wond if they will refit the saucer and fill in the spore rings like the discovery alpha from the 2016 sdcc trailer
