You mean what appears to be 2D artwork, while everything else is photo-realistic CG? It's as if TOS-R doesn't even exist.patrickivan wrote:Nice. I love how they use the cheapest more unflattering picture of TOS Enterprise they can find. Tonnes of updated versions to bring it in line, modeled using more contemporary means.trekmodelermichelle26 wrote:found this on a discovery page

The original design can work in modern television with some updates. Here is an example of how it can be modernized but still remain true to the classic design: https://madshipyard.com/ThePrimeAlternative/theship.htm

So, looks like they plan to release the Enterprise on their Discovery line of ships.

"Mock up created for low budget documentary based on logs of Capt. Kirk"
They taking the !!!!!!!!? It might be old hat but it's still the proper Enterprise, and I actually liked the update.

The TOS Enterprise revolutionized the way ships were presented in sci-fi. As they say, it "broke new ground"; and it still stands out today and looks great. I'll buy a replica of the new version because I tend to consume most things Enterprise, but the original is still the Enterprise. The 'new' one reminds me of some of the fan designs.

I don't hate the redesign. In fact, I thank trekmodelermichelle26 for the new reference pictures. What I don't like is the dumping on the original Connie as if she's an abomination that needs to be buried. That's like hating my great-grandmother because in the pictures I have of her she's not wearing the latest fashions.

Where was this originally posted? I have been trying to search for it to see if there is a larger version. Thanks!trekmodelermichelle26 wrote:orthos of the dsc enterprise by dave combe
