Discovery Enterprise **SPOILER** image heavy

For everything Star Trek related, that isn't covered by the other forums.

Agreed. JJprise is an odd looking beast.

Though it's funny- I find the Starfleet felt more Star Trek in JJtrek than in Discovery trek.

I just want to see cool ship go places. People explore !!!!!!!!. And stuff occasionally blow up.

It just about sums up D-rek that we are grateful for any crumbs of canon they deign to throw our way .
Just be glad the Enterprise is vaguely recognisable , and not that trainwreck they called a D7 .

There is a neat design element that I just noticed. And to preface my comment to come, I did notice there was an open slit along the pylons (as was the Eaves Enterprise concept). What I didn't notice before, was that from the right angle, and or right lighting, it creates a neat effect making it look like a narrower pylon similar to TOS. That in itself is a nice way of kind of keeping it inline.

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

Yes, I think that slit was in one design from John Eaves for a possible redesigned Enterprise.

Considering that in TOS, the Constitution class was the largest in Starfleet, I'm wondering where this is coming from...

Discovery seems bigger. Many fan designs. Half the contemporary ships of FASA. It's fairly common.

discovery only has 15 decks and a crew of 136 as stated in two different dsc episodes so it is not over 700 m long as eaglemoss says would say it is a little shorter then a excelsior class with the length of the nacelles and the according to a deck map and also the damage report the shenzhou has the same amount of decks as a miranda and is simular sized they did say they upped the size of the dsc enteprise to that of the size of the tmp refit

Nice. I love how they use the cheapest more unflattering picture of TOS Enterprise they can find. Tonnes of updated versions to bring it in line, modeled using more contemporary means.

ST: Continues Drexler's model from 2013 looks pretty damned decent.

I'm not even opposed to the new Enterprise. I just don't like how everyone is dumping on TOS version, suggesting it couldn't be updated to be far more detailed and compared to a 1960's model for 1960's horrible televisions. No one has ever suggested we take THAT model, and THOSE old sets and put them on a modern show, but that always seems to be the anti-TOS Enterprise argument.
