Interesting. Matt Jeffries did hit on something he did. Could be why I consider the original and the refit the best of the lot.

I really liked this vid. :thumbsup:

I have known about the Golden Ratio as it applies to the Enterprise for some time but not about the Rule of Thirds. Interesting. The way the Enterprise dimensions match the lines or intersections of the rectangles leads me to believe that did not happen by accident. Jefferies probably applied the Rule of Thirds when he designed the Enterprise; perhaps even the Golden Ratio. Did he ever say if he followed either when he drew her up?

That would be my guess as well. I have been trying to find anything where Jeffries stated that but no luck.

This is a good, thought provoking video! Nicely done!

I wonder if he has done similar videos of the other Enterprise designs?

Wow, not a bad job by a guy who was instructed by Roddenberry not to design the hero ship as either a flying saucer or a rocket. So Jefferies returned with... a ship made up of a saucer connected to a bunch of rockets
