Moderated Messages?

How long are messages moderated for? Part of not participating here is that every message I post gets into a moderation queue for some reason.

Well, I also eventually found in a FAQ that you need 5 posts before it's disabled. But that's an obvious obstruction to newbie participation, and it has to be a pain for the moderators.

You did, but the moderators were quick on the uptake. It all depends on how much life the moderator at the time has at the time.

In 15 years running my own forums, I also use the "first few posts must be approved" method. Approving the first 2 posts weeds out the spammers in my experience. Never had a situation where a spammer got through on post #3, 4, or 5.
