Howdy from my little hometown,

Post by Captain KeyGrip »

Hello All,
Let me briefly introduce myself, my name is Frank. This is my first post. Having been born, raised and happy in my neighborhood, I've somehow realized early in life that this wondrous tv show that often took the role of a parent in my early years was just four blocks from my home and school. This set in motion an almost autonomic imperative to breach the walled unknown factory of tales of virtue that I had no other to impress upon a 10 year old mind. Over the years, I surely crafted a newspaper bicycle route that would allow me to observe the goings on around the lot.
Growing up in the nucleus of the American cinematic capital does grant me a perspective of Hollywood that those we call "Transplants" fail to ever relate or even segregate from. I've had to succumb to the reality that those who are drawn here (this is by no means an absolute) do so seeking glamor, fame, vanity and the chance to at least find themselves in the company of the likeminded. Again, I strive to give a wide berth to convey any inference of tribalism or presenting a self serving manifesto of a threatened people being overrun and run out of their generational neighborhoods.
So, my first years in ST were on camera and standing in for one of the principals, my highlight was as Uhuras chaperone. On camera shes dancing behind a giant moon translight and I'm scrunched down ready to pop out and holler 'Freeze!'. The rest of the long day it rained hard, so I escorted her arm in arm manning the umbrella for her back and forth at leat a dozen times. Just she and I walking in the rain in he dark, the alley devoid of any others just soaking in the solitude. Of course, Shatner was directing (when he wasnt holding court with his gaggle of blonde girly girls.
Next time I'll go into my grip stuff, thats truly where the stories and adventures really became so visceral and engaging . . .
I couldnt stop laughing at the thought I was getting paid to do something I'd pay to do.

Well welcome to the Crazy House. (I am informed by a friend that modelers are crazy. He might be right) It is nice to have up on board.

Oh BTW that friend is Jay P. Hailey, whom I am informed you know. Small world.

Welcome Aboard Sir. It's good to have you along. And I look forwards towards more War Stories you might have concerning Star Trek and the like. (Including the Hollywood stuffs).

I got to enjoy a wee bit of Star Trek V production whilst I was working at Yosemite Park- way back when.
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.
