It was my favorite part as well, though I'm no slouch at sketching. I was somewhat unusual in producing so many physical models over the course of my education, almost all of them entirely hand built. I used the laser cutter exactly twice.

An X-acto blade and foamcore were my friends. Didn't mind the pencil and paper for drawings and drafting, but there was something about actually building a thing
