I started with Gunmetal blue. The plan was to undercoat and top that will not too carefully applied green.

I never got to the green. I liked it so much I just added the red panels I wanted.

I have used Pactra A34 Flat Artillery Olive FS 34127 to good effect on the KBOP and the Vor'Cha
following a recommendation with the Vor'Cha kit I tried a 50/50 mix of FS 34227 Pale Green and FS 35622 Duck Egg Blue.
it comes out a pale gray-green that I tried on the Romulan Warbird (Adversary set) and the K'Tinga .
I'm happy with those results and I think I'll keep using them.

for my 1/1000 TOS Battlecruiser I used Xtracolor paints for the MiG-29 Fulcrum that I thought actually looked pretty good.
(actually finishing that as a Romulan Battlecruiser.)

The original studio model of the warbird was gray with little highlights of green. Here's a link to the pic of the studio model.

That lower strut on the head has never impressed me. It looks very much like a Mickey Mouse last minute addition.

kinda makes a lil sence tho for getting around the ship in a hurry .. if your in lower forward hull . in order to get to the lower wing ya gotta go up through the head back along the top wing down the lower pylon and foward through lower wing .. long trip when that lil neck cuts it in 1/4 time

It makes sense ot have it. What they did looks out of place.

I've used a variety of MM colors for the KBOP, and I must say I've never decided on a perfect recipe for the base color. About all I've decided is MM Pale Green or Sublime Green is a decent starting point; after that, extra white, some yellow and maybe a tick of blue ...

Of course, I'm an enamel guy. Tamiya Light Green could be another good starting point ... JN or JA Gray, or X4 Yellow Green, could be great too. All would need to be mixed with a healthy dose of white, though: a common misconception's that the Bird is a dark or olive green when any screencap shows otherwise. When they were building the studio model, Nilo Rodis even said it was painted in an ''art deco green.''
