Paint question

Post by cannon fodder » Mon Aug 18, 2014 2:39 am

Do they make a brushable iridescent paint? Or even an iridescent clear coat? I was thinking of doing a wash or something of the sort on my Reliant model.

You know I saw an iradescent nail polish at work today. Nail Polishes are acrylic based and the salon stylists air brush them so they taught me how to thin it. I might give a try I'll try to post more about it tomorrow.

Only thing is I don't have an airbrush so that's why I was looking for something brushable. Clear preferably so I could maybe lay on a coat over Aztec decals.

I think that if it's thinned to the point it can be airbrushed it would work well as a wash.

I would go Pactra before nail polish.

Color shifting paint is not new, it tends to be very expensive

I believe Vallejo makes a Metallic varnish that might be used also.

so nail polishes are acylic .. i seen some that would go good for a project i got going .. its a glitter like and has a couple colors in it .. now i know my air brush wont spray glitter so i would have to brush it on .. probly take me a few bottles to cover what i want .. no panel or such lines to bother with to dont have to worry about filling those in or any other detail lost due to the coats of paint..
