Retro JJPrise

Post by TrekMD »

Looks like someone has taken upon himself to make some changes to the JJPrise so that she looks closer to the original TOS Enterprise by changing the color scheme. He posted about it at RPF. The thread is here: Retro JJPrise. Here she is in all her glory...

Personally, I think the ship looks much better with the classic color scheme.. What does everyone think?

Nice concept, but I honestly think the movie white and blue works a lot better with the crazy nacelles.

I prefer it the way as is shown here.

I find this to be a vastly superior scheme! I still don't like the front end of the engines, or the back of the secondary hull. I do like the JJPrise saucer, probably because it's an amendment of the TMP saucer.

The color looks great, the classic font looks really good as well.

I'm not a fan of the red stripes on the nacelles. Perhaps if he used standard type pennants, that might look better. Otherwise, I think it looks great.

I can go either way. The TOS color scheme looks good on the JJprise overall, but I agree with Del that the nacelles have too many red pennants. Should have stuck to the classic TOS pennant. I'm also with asmcelhinney in that the stark white and blue make the crazy* nacelles look better.

I find it truly remarkable how much the paint scheme appears to bring the New-Timeline Enterprise into the fold of the classic design lineage. To see the familiar colors does make it seem like it's the NCC-1701 we know and love with a few changes. Of course the nacelles are still overblown and ugly, but I feel oddly soothed by it.

Of course that's assuming that the scale of this ship is in line with the scale of the original and not bigger than a Galaxy class ship...

Very well done model!
