Thanks DfC, I don't have STO but sometimes I come across nice pics on the web, I didn't find yet what I was looking for.

parts not yet glued and the Nebula pod need some cleaning due to the casting. I will probably re-coat all model in light grey once I've found the correct shade in the Tamiya spray can range.

Doing a quick search, this was the texture I was talking about.


It shows some good placement options for "class of 96'" escape pods on the Miranda class, which is what I thought you were asking for in a previous post. Not a fan of the phaser strips of other things, but I always appreciated the addition of the escape pods to the ship. I want to say there are square versions as well, but I may be thinking of an alternative Akira Class Texture. I think that's as good as you're gonna get with a decent aesthetic of where to place them.

I can see they are on the edge of the saucer, the flat part, I thought they'd be near the bridge module on the angled area ?
As for the phaser strips I will add some to be consistent with modern era ships.

I think they'd be hogging space up there with the phasers, bridge, name, and registry. Also, they'd be scrunched together if they were closer to the bridge. Aesthetically, I think the way they are at the edge of the saucer is a good choice. The final decision is ultimately up to you of course.

These are good reasons, on my ship, lifeboats are on the main deck, not so close to the conning station !
So the phaser strips (2 pcs) should be at the position of the previous system (I think it's the yellow squares ?).

Heavy Frigate (or light cruiser ?)

LIke the Heavy Frigate, seems a logical choice for me.

Hi Shiftdel,
I have two other Ent-E kits + 1 second Venture on its way. I want to build a Sovereign style family of ships. There should be an Oberth style (unless I use a Luna saucer) ship with the secondary hull taken from an Eaglemoss model. Maybe a destroyer/scout with a single warp nacelle (I was hoping that OS will release one but he is busy). A twin hull ship (alike the Bradbury class is also expected).
There are many cool designs on Deviant Art (from the Mirror Universe.

Top view of the Heavy Frigate: fitting/adjusting the Sovereign neck piece is quite difficult, it is not exactly how it should be (sitting to much high apparently but I prefer it that way, anyway I never understood how this piece should be fitted even after looking on the pics )
