New years resolution

Post by mophius » Thu Dec 28, 2017 11:36 pm

So any plans for your resolutions this year?

I will start,
I plan to make at least one kit a month in 2018. Not including what I already have on the bench. I want to say I will keep these as resin kits but there may be one or two plastic kits in there too. I also want to say there will be more but who knows, this year (I started in January) I made 14. That would be my ultimate goal but for now 1 a month will do.
There is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact its all dark.

Not necessarily a resolution, but for 2017 I had made myself promise not to start building a new kit until I finished (that is, paint & decal) the kits I had built already. I've made enough progress on those that I released myself from that promise. So I get to build again in 2018! :party:

indeed, what a good thread idea

'18 resolution;
- more collaborations,
- complete v4 of the bork-cube, and get some friends to make better battle-damage animations.
reposition the pop-rivet endcaps, and earth any fixed stationary displays :lol:
- continue plugging away at the unimatrix, :borg:
- complete a type11 tricorder prop with mLED screens etc.
- play more games of Modiphius's Trek etc.

Non-Trek Related Resolutions;
- complete v3 of Mr Handy prototype (whole metal or fibreglass shell)
-collab more on AGI in various things.

My modeling resolutions are to build more models than I buy (reduce backlog), possibly building 100 or more (I'm including multiples & tiny, easy builds in that number) while improving my skills. Of course, there's the every-year goal of being healthier (eating better, more exercise) and becoming a better person. Possibly cross off some bucket list items.

I'm going to start lighting models. I have so many sitting around that need lighting. And I need to set some standard for the ratio of completed models to boxes sitting around all over the place. I can barely move around my desk anymore.

I’m gonna make 218 my Modeling Beyotch and intend to finish at least 24 Models - I started over 50 models this year. Many - 30+ - are ready for touch up paint, then on to decaling!

So, from that angle, I will start no more builds until I’ve finished a minimum of 24 models.
