And we can be thankful this never became canon.
DANGER. SPACE DOORS ARE CLOSED.

"I saw it done on Discovery" is no excuse for anything, even breathing.

Interesting but that plot serves the purpose of establishing a game more than anything else

I just never could get into Voyager, and I never played the Star Trek video games, so I always felt like I'd been left out of part of the story. Growing up in an airline family, I was more of a die hard flight simmer (MSFS and Red Baron 3D). From the first time I saw TMP though, I knew it was a rehashing of Nomad. We'd never heard of the Borg back then and they most likely weren't even a twinkle in Roddenberry's eye, but when they came along, I couldn't help but think how nicely they could be tied into the tale.
i don't know. I'm making it up as I go.

I get the need to tie everything together, but that's not how life works. It's easy to think that the Cimbri tribe who invaded Italy in 100 BC are the genetic predecessors to the Goths who invaded the Roman Empire centuries later because they came from the same region of Europe, but really they're two different peoples. Sometime barbarians have to invade and machines evolve separately.

I also consider the Borg bad writing. An opponent that is unbeatable until you pull out the Deus Ex Machina. Sloppy. This is the reason I quickly disposed of the issue in my personal Trek Writing.
