It's the piece in the middle of the array. It has a series of tubular projections hanging underneath that I haven't modeled yet. Transitioning from the bi-curved square top to the round bottom was the difficult part. All I have to do on it now is shapemerge the diamond pattern to the bottom and then add the tubes.

Almost there. I made the smaller tines too short, and I need to detail the surface a bit more.

Moving on. The array and the core don't quite line up like they should yet, need to fix that.

I revised the array slightly to match up to the core.

The arboretum is beginning to take shape.

Wow! This is quite the endeavor! I don't think I've ever seen someone attempt this ship.

Way to stand out!

Good luck with this one. I'll be following along!

Real life apparently dedicated April to kicking my ass, but I haven't forgotten the Proteus. Some revisions to the arboretum.

I know the feeling, 2 trips to the ER myself earlier this month (had 3 Kidney stones, with 2 left to pass) and too wife to ER this morning with pain below her ribs(we think gallstones)

Fleshing out the arboretum. It has all these elongated hexagonal plating agglomerations that give it a shiny, speckled appearance.

Holy Christ. I said it would be tedious, and I was right on the money.

I kind of overdid the paneling. I need to go through and delete about half of them to increase transparency. And I need the inner bubble.
