Oh, one other thing.

I know that the decals are already 'chopped up" into sections, but you'll probably find that even then there will be distortions and stretch marks. The reason being- the decals are printed onto the equivalent of 2 dimensions. The model itself is in 3 dimensions. A Mercator Map will give you an idea.

What I've done with just about every large Aztek decal- sliced them into small segments. It's a lot more work, but when it comes time for the fitting, once you've gotten the decal where you want it, you won't want to fiddle with it anymore than you have to. As mine own 1/350 refit Enterprise has a number of fold marks in it's decals.

It's more work, but it's also more satisfying in the end.

Ohhh good tip. Yeh I planned to cut them up and work on a smaller scale, think they're just too big to work on in one go!!

Moongrim wrote:Unlike the tutorial, the Decal Set helps make the decal set into place, and I let it dry before proceeding to using the Decal Sol.

The Set adheres the decal to the spot. The Sol allows the decal to mold itself to any bumps and valleys that it's sitting on.

OK, I did not know that and I have both, never used.
