Most intriguing...
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

Thanks Monogrim!
A few more pics:
Ship's Captain
And before was Captain:
Now, to answer that pesky question- "Why does the ship look like a Romulan BOP?" :
More coming folks, stay tuned. And please visit the site for more info!

I really like that spacedock scene. Do you have any more pictures of the shuttle?

Thanks! And I do have the "orthographic" view for the shuttle:Drop_Bear wrote:I really like that spacedock scene. Do you have any more pictures of the shuttle?
Believe it or not: to make the shuttle as seen in the pic, I combined the side and back view images from the ortho to create it. But eventually, I want to do a model of the shuttle itself.
Speaking of shuttlecraft, I designed out the main shuttlebay, based on the awesome illustration John Eaves did:
I used his ideas, but did this pic up from scratch; I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to rip his work off! A link to his original (which is WORLDS better than all of my art combined!!):

Hm....
WOW!
Your Uss Alpha Centauri, looks very much like my Uss Warhawk that I designed back in 2011.
I started out with this. But it wasn't exactly what I wanted, so I modified it to this. BTY... The Registry ID number is my birth date (1959/03March/30day) And I also designed a patch for it.

The finished design was this..
A mix of a Miranda Class with a Peregrin class (wich is a John Payne design).

Re: The Art of Star Trek: Alpha Centauri
I am working on something very alike but for the pre-TOS era. It will be my very first scratch project.
To tell the truth I am not surprised that such design be so popular because it is the easiest one to match the starfleet style: pick a saucer, put a nacelle on each side and you are done! At least this is what came to my mind when I had the idea of build such similar model!

Nice! I can see the resemblance between the two. Coincidentally, the Alpha Centauri was also designed circa 2011 (it's first design incarnation premiered on Hobby Talk).Vahmp wrote:Hm....

Re: The Art of Star Trek: Alpha Centauri
There is this one, that was taken directly from my design. lol :pengbuzz wrote: Nice! I can see the resemblance between the two. Coincidentally, the Alpha Centauri was also designed circa 2011 (it's first design incarnation premiered on Hobby Talk).
It was built after I posted (mine) what I was building at the time.
And at that time, I did research all over the net, looking for anything close to what I was building so as not to be charged with plagiarism when I finally show the finished ship. And there wasn't any ship like that around. After... I saw a few people building that design. Well, "after" is history. I just left the build on the side... Maybe one day I'll finish her.
