My idea for a NASA-style starship I drew up a while back.

Interesting. The secondary hull has a chargeable mission hull look to it.

I concur, I like the modularity of it.

Thanks! My idea was that the early warp reactors should be these huge inefficient clunky things, so I went for a design where the warp core took up the entire secondary hull, with all the living space in the primary hull and the monitoring station above the impulse engines. The modules are actually a tank full of matter, one full of antimatter, with the intermix chamber in between.

Logical.

Eventually, both improvements in efficiency and the downsides of battle provided the impetus for change.

The words "reactor", "full" and "anti-matter" together in the same paragraph really scares me!

Thanks,

Yan.

Should no more be frightening than: Reactor, Full, and Fukushima.

To tell you the truth only the word "reactor" is scary enough for me.

Thanks,

Yan.
