Julien's build - 1/1400 TOS Enterprise - Done !
Hi guys,
Here's my entry for the GB, a simple TOS Enterprise at 1/1400 scale. This is the kit from Starcraft.
This is mostly an OOB build, so I'm going for the "Production Version". But I do plan to use Jt-graphics decals rather than the supplied ones.
If I have the time, I plan to build the 1/1400 Klingon D7 too, my main goal is to display all three ships - Enterprise, Klignon D7 and Romulan BOP - together on a base.

A fine ship to start with.
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

That's always fun, just like the old "starship set"Julien wrote:If I have the time, I plan to build the 1/1400 Klingon D7 too, my main goal is to display all three ships - Enterprise, Klignon D7 and Romulan BOP - together on a base.

Very nice choice. I used to build in 1/1400, so I'm gonna really appreciate this. You callin' her Enterprise or something else?

Life kept me busy in May, so I haven't started yet, but it's gonna be soon. All the parts have been cleaned, so next step is correcting the casting flaws...

Ok, with less than a month to go, time to start on mine...
Most of the imperfections has been taken care of, and I glued and pinned the parts...
Then a bit of primer, stuck a rod in it, and I think I'm ready for paint...

A good start.

What paint colors do you intend to use?
I'm a modeler, not a doctor...

I've actually finished the base coat the other day.slawton wrote:What paint colors do you intend to use?
I used Vallejo Model Air US Light Grey as a base coat, VMA White grey for highlights and a mix of VMA US light grey with a bit of VMA US Dark Green for shades.
I haven't made up my mind for the rest of the details yet...
