Thanks everyone! I think this may be the best lit model I've ever built regardless of size.

Just for fun, here's a little composite I made using an image of the whale probe from ST IV...

Very nice build! Thanks for the step-by-step process from start to finish. I still have not lit a model, even though I have everything I need to do it. Nice composite!!

Thanks Del!

BTW, I've started building your 1/1000 Phobos kit. Look for a build thread on that soon. I need to order the Refit aztecs for it too.

Yeah, I'm still not satisfied with my attempts at aztecs, and it would take me so long to make them that I would never get the kits produced. The 1/1400 Phobos and the various scales of Soyuz kits are now on my bench for builds, so you'll see them soon as well.

Just curious where are you ordering those Aztecs from, I'm starting my Phobos too (entering it into the SMA Big Spring Contest)

Not to worry about the Aztecs, the decals you provide with the kit are awesome and make a great build. I'm still on the fence actually if I want to Aztec it or not.

The Phobos decals are amazing Del. I was glad you included both yours and the original kit maker's decal sets so we have some extras. I actually used the extra set of gangway access doors for the saucer rim on the Saratoga.

I'm getting the Acreation decals sold by Federation Models:

ACM-107
On Screen Grey Decals
$20.00

I've used Acreations decals before. They are generally fairly thin so I'll give them about 3
coats of Glosscote and a brush with liquid decal film before soaking them in water.

I have an extra Reliant kit in my stash and would definitely be interested in getting your Soyuz conversion kit when it's available for sale Del.
