Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while
I haven't built a Star Trek kit since sometime in 2015, I guess. But I got the Romulan BOP for Christmas, which stoked up my interest again. My overall goal is to work my way through the PL 1/1000 stuff I've accumulated, then do a few of the Ugh Models resin kits, too.
I decided to start with on the Ent-refit that's been in my closet for a while. Posting up my WIP pics here as a incentive to keep going and not get distracted by some other shiny object. First WIP is kinda boring, sorry:

New update. The subassemblies are all together. Saucer, neck and secondary hull painted and glossed for decals. Still working on detail painting on the nacelles.

Nice and shiny. Are you using a pearl white for the basecoat?

The base color is a mix of 4 parts Tamiya Flat White to 1 part Sky Grey. Over that, I airbrushed Tamiya Clear thinned with MR. Color Leveling thinner. Comes out nice and shiny.
I think it's just a trick of the light that makes it look "pearly" in that pic.

Latest update: Got my order from Starshipmodeler.com. Work continues on the nacelles. Will need to finish gloss coating everything and then start decaling.

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while
You've inspired me to work on mine. This kit is an absolute dream to build. The pieces fit together better than any model I've built. Virtually no seams to fill and those that are there blend in nicely as panel lines. I base coated mine with rattle can gloss white but I'm thinking it's a bit too thick. I may strip it and re-coat it with thinned flat and a light coat of clear gloss.
Looking forward to your progress.
