USS Rutledge WIP

Post by SKO » Wed Jul 03, 2019 4:03 pm

One half of my father's day gift is coming along (as you can see from the pictures the other half is an Olympic class I haven't yet started)

Very nice!

Whoever gave you that must have shopped well in advance of Father’s Day — Starcrafts has been sold out of the New Orleans class kits for a while (at least when I’ve been checked lately).

I gave it to myself  , my wife usually just tells me to get whatever model it is I'm after for Father's Day. It's a pretty good arrangement.

I just emailed Dennis directly to ask if he had any in stock and he shipped me the New Orleans and the Olympic right away.

In the ranks of death you will find him

His father's sword

He hath girded on

And his wild harp slung behind him

Hey,

That looks good!

I have this kit too. The Aztec is very awesome there! Back in the starting time of resin kits some clear pics were not available. But with release of TNG DVD pics and 2016' Rick's pictures I was like "...have to modify it...".

Greeting,
Michael

That looks great. To be honest I know we have more accurate pictures now but I prefer the starcraft version to the real thing. The extra awkward phaser bank on the real New Orleans makes it really stick out as the two hulls glued together that it is. Same with the extra flush vents on top of the nacelles. I contemplated filling in one set on mine but decided against it.
