Woohoo! I just sold my first ship!

Postby Cubey Terra » Sun May 31, 2015 1:08 am

Turns out people actually want to pay money for these things. So today I sold my 1:1400 scale Enterprise C — the one that lights up on USB power.

USB powered?

that's a nifty idea... maybe next one has an "external" hard drive installed inside?

I looked into that actually, and it's quite easy. The problem is that external drive capacity is growing by leaps and bounds. If I build a drive into a ship, it's likely to be obsolete in only a few years. On the other hand, I'd love to build a TOS Enterprise with the entire series in it. Or an Enterprise refit with movies 1 to 6 (well that gets confusing because the Ent A arrives in ST IV). Or the Enterprise B with just Generations on it. Or the Enterprise C with just that one TNG episode "Yesterday's Enterprise" where the ship appears.

Anyway, I had a lot of interest in it because of the USB power. People like the idea of having a ship light up when they turn on their computer or TV. :)

Well considering the quality of that ship- I'm not surprised it sold. And with a USB powering- it's convenient to sit next to or on someone's work station.

Think geek would be envious.

Congratulations Cubey! Trekriffic is right, given the quality of the build it's no surprise

Thanks!

Now I kind of miss it. I guess I'll have to build another? :?

It happens. I traded one of mine for something I wanted because I didn't "need" it. Ended up replacing it anyway...
