Re: Starcrafts D'kyr class Vulcan ringship
Hi Guys,
It's been awhile since I posted here. I'm happy to either scale down my decals or send my file to Jeff to produce. Jeff's a great guy and we work great together.

There ya go.....words from the BossMan himself!
I've been working on that 'decal #4' for a little bit this morning...taking a break from it now. Whew. LOTS of panels in there, and a lot of them just go better when you cut it down to 2 or 3 panels per application. It's a chore, but it's looking good so far. Guess it's time to go paint up the clear pieces and get them ready. Model should be done by tonight. Next up - the stand!

Some snaps as of the noon break.
I think the metallic is still showing through nicely. We'll have to see once it's done and the final gloss is applied.- novahobbies

Construction note: there are a few panels on decal 4 that overlap the side wraparound decals. I tried overlapping them and they look a little weird. Better to call them spares in case the side decals wrinkle. Otherwise I'm cutting them off.

Real time modeling posts going on here. This is all I have left. Is it just me, or does this look like some sort of crazy Jackal skull to anyone else?

Omg, decals are done! Now just need to let them dry, do some touch up painting, and get started pimping out the stand. These have been a long time coming.

End of the night. Got the engine ring back on, the impulse engine painted, and a few other housekeeping things done. Still waiting for the lower headlight blisters to dry, so they're not attached yet. But here's some almost-done shots.

Excellent work on the ship!
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

Yes, the mind plays tricks -- hence the ink blot test. Where does this part fit on the ship - I don't see where it goes?novahobbies wrote:Real time modeling posts going on here. This is all I have left. Is it just me, or does this look like some sort of crazy Jackal skull to anyone else?

Nice job on the model. What colors did you use and how did you do the blue interior rectangles on the ring?
