I had planned to post photos of the final completed model today, but there's a small and rather embarrassing issue of I can't find it. Over the weekend, I grabbed the model off the shelf, set it down somewhere, unpacked and set up my camera and tripod since I wanted to use a decent macro lens and not just the phone, then went back to where I thought I had parked, and it's not there. Someone left the cloaking device turned on, and then locked the keys inside. I know it's somewhere inside the house, so I will find it and post photos. Just not today. :?

But where in the park? I don't see any footprints with a squashed garbage can. :)

The shape of the rubberized pads on the feet are based on the imprint in the grass in Golden Gate Park in ST:IV.

And yup, it did have "HMS BOUNTY" written on the port side landing gear door with a red .005 Sakura Pigma Micron pen, but looks like it faded or got dissolved by Dullcote. Maybe that's what the lettering on the real ship looked like after atmospheric entry and a dip in the Bay?

Here are some lower angle walkaround shots that show the landing gear a bit better:

Photos taken on my late-1970s era Corian kitchen counter which looks a bit more planetary than the photo booth interior.

Next up will be comparison photos of this model with a stock Federation Models B'rel and the D-12 made with the leftover parts from this project.

One last update on this topic: comparison with a stock Federation Models B'rel and a D-12 made using the AMT/Ertl hull and Federation Models command pod left over from this build.
