New (small) 1/2500 Station... Chevon-6

Hi guys,

So.... Like I said in the 5 ships topic...
As I was walking home yesterday, I found a new outpost.

I named her Chevon-6 (it's a play on the name. You'll see why. )

Yes, it's a CHEVY car hub cover.
As you can see, I already puttied the Chevy emblem, and sanded it all down and around.

I outlined and cut a piece of styrene to size, glued it in place and sanded the edges flush.

Puttied it all around. Now it sits drying till tomorrow

Now, these two pieces (red and clear) will be the center hub of the outpost.
Just haven't decided yet which one, or how it will be used.

But as you can see by the 1/2500 saucers next to it, it's a nice small outpost station.

The back story of this one is:

It was a derelict Alien station that was found, unmanned, drifting on the outer rim of Federation space.
Starfleet appropriated it, set about refurbishing the useless parts, and renamed it Chevon-6.

And it's about 4 decks in height, without the center hub.

That's all I have for now, about her...

Are those two clear pieces plastic and would you be able to cut them? If so, you could cut the red on at the base of the large bulge and glue the top part to the top of the station and the thinner part to the bottom, like a fancy shaped deuterium (or whatever) storage tank. Just a thought.
Now I'm going to have to watch the side of the road for lost hubcaps so I can copy the recent station builds.

YEP! They're acrylic plastic. My wife, who is also an artist, uses them in her art. She has quiet a few spares, that I steal from her.

You just gave me an idea!
Cut the clear one at it's widest part, use the top portion for the top hull.
Cut the red one in the same place, use the bottom portion for the "deuterium storage tank and Power unit!

I cut the red and clear pieces, and did a mock up of what it'll look like.

I really like the way is shaping up, it'll look good after greebled painted.
