Coming along. One thing I'm quite liking is that since this material scoffs at sandpaper, I can experiment with paneling and colors and sand it all off without bothering the model itself much.

Dorsal details so far.

that's looking awesome - especially for hand painted.

that said - i've never been a fan of shapeways materials they always come across as "bitty" or perhaps porus? very different from standard FDM printing i'm used to anyways.

the ship design is quite cool too - you can definitely see the sovereign lineage in it

Dorsal azteking ongoing. I'm starting to wonder how I'm going to do pennants and registries. Might snag myself a couple of fine tip Prismacolor markers, or break out one of my old brushes that's down to its last few bristles.

The blue areas are intended to be sensor palettes in keeping with the reconnaissance aspect. They'll get filled in with some gold and silver details.

Very nice... nay, impressive!

First pass at the registry, with the tiniest Prismacolors I could find. It's a mess. But it's water soluble. And these are great for pretty much everything other puny detail, even though the texture isn't ideal.

Starting work on secondary hull detail. I removed the registry for now, but these work really well for pennants.
